1 month

Here's a few pictures of my big girl:

one of Lydia's first smiles
little toes
the famous frown

I cannot believe it's been a month since Lydia joined our family. Usually January seems to be such a slow month, but not this year. It seems to have just flown by and she's already a month old! Makes me want to cry!

crazy hairs

Gotta love the winter...dry air...static hair.

We had Christmas at Nate's dad's on Saturday and on the way home we heard the "Cinderella Song" (country, don't know who sings it) that Cassidy likes. After it was over, she asked if there was a prince in the song. I haven't totally listened carefully to the words of the song, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with finding a prince....just thought it was cute of her to ask about Cinderella's prince.

ETA: Nate just informed me that there is a prince charming in the song...my bad.

Moments like these....

Even though I totally bribed Cassidy to pose for this picture, which by the way is the only one that came out decent...after 10 minutes of convincing...and 5 minutes of shooting...I think it's cute. Cassidy does kiss Lydia several times a day just like in this picture but I don't ever have the camera in hand.

She is also Lydia's 2nd mother. She's constantly checking on her to make sure she isn't cold or makes sure her baby papasan chair's vibrator and music are turned on. Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes not because Cassidy thinks that if Lydia isn't crying, the chair should be turned off, or vice versa. This is also true with her pacifier. Then Lydia starts to cry. And it drives mommy insane when she does it.

Lydia has been a little better this weekend. She's been super fussy this week and we haven't figured out why. I quit eating chocolate, orange juice, and will try dairy. Chocolate was not the culprit, so I'm back eating that thank God! She's also got a problem with reflux, which I feel so bad for her because when I lay her down after I feed her, she spits up and sometimes it comes out her nose...ouch! I hope she outgrows that soon!

We went shopping today (which took all day). I forget how long it takes to do simple tasks while out with a newborn. It was nice though, we went to the mall and I used the nursing room there which is wonderful while trying to nurse a 2 week old. I was able to go to a scrapbook store too, and bumped into my sister!! How crazy is that!!?? I spent a little too much time there, because Nate seemed a little bit irritated when I got back to the explorer. oops. This should be expected when bringing me to a scrapbook store :)

We're going to try to make it to church tomorrow. Wish us luck to get out of the house on time!!

More pictures

I took a few pictures this morning...finally the sun came out for some decent natural light.

The last picture is of Cassidy looking in Lydia's crib and telling fussy Lydia "It's ok, mommy will be right back!" Such a good sister, don't you think?
